Tensions flared in the K-pop world this week after one of the co-producers behind BLACKPINK Jennie’s solo track “like Jennie” – Jaxxtone came under fire for making a controversial and disrespectful tweet aimed at fellow K-pop group TWICE.
The incident began when online comparisons surfaced between TWICE’s upcoming album teaser and Jennie’s recent release. In particular, when a person claimed that Jennie sampled the beat in “like Jennie”, producer Jorge (@jaxxtone), responded directly and bluntly on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “I made like Jennie who the f*ck is twice lol.”

The tweet, which many fans immediately called out as disrespectful and unprofessional, triggered an outpouring of backlash from ONCEs, TWICE’s dedicated fandom. Even BLINKs, BLACKPINK’s loyal fans, expressed concern about the tweet’s tone and timing, fearing it could damage Jennie’s reputation by association. They also tagged the official account of JYP Entertainment (TWICE’s agency) to demand actions.
“You could’ve just corrected op’s information without being shady”, a fan wrote, while another commented, “This post is totally unnecessary and unprofessional, just to provoke attacks towards the group, we demand respect to the artists”.
As the criticism intensified, Jorge deleted the tweet and his account was made private, but screenshots of the original tweet continued to circulate widely, prompting heated discussion.
